Kawase

What Kawase is

An AI money app for everything on Arc. Ask by voice or text in your own language; the agent proposes, you approve, and on-chain limits bound what it can do.

Kawase (為替, "exchange" in Japanese) is a money app with an AI agent at its centre, built for Arc, Circle's stablecoin network. You tell it what you want — "send 20 dollars to Alex", "swap half my euros to dollars", "every Friday put 10 dollars aside" — by voice or by typing, in any of ten languages. Kawase works out the details, shows you exactly what will happen, and does it.

One app for everything on Arc

The goal is that anything a person can do with money on Arc, they can do by asking Kawase:

  • Send, receive and request USDC and EURC, to a saved contact, a Kawase @handle or any address.
  • Swap and trade: USDC ↔ EURC today; any token on Arc, meme coins and long/short positions (perps) are being added.
  • Buy with Apple Pay or a card through Circle's Onramp Kit.
  • Bridge and withdraw: move USDC from Arc to six other networks over Circle CCTP, with other bridges (Across, Relay) compared; withdraw anywhere.
  • Earn and borrow: Morpho vaults today; Aave V4 and borrowing are being added.
  • Automations: scheduled payments, Auto-save and rules that run by themselves inside limits you sign once.
  • The x402 marketplace: pay for services and APIs per call, inside a budget.
  • Voice on iPhone and Android, and the whole app in ten languages.

Not all of this has shipped. The availability page is generated from the same capability registry the app and the agent read, so it always says honestly what runs today and what is coming:

Why an agent, and why it is safe

Most money apps make you find the right screen. Kawase lets you say what you mean, and the agent fills in the rest: who "Alex" is, which currency you hold, which route is cheapest. What it can never do is move money beyond what you allowed:

  • Inside your daily allowance the agent just sends and tells you — no prompt. The allowance is an on-chain limit you signed once; the chain refuses anything above it.
  • Above the allowance, for a new recipient over a threshold, a look-alike address, a swap or a bridge, you confirm with Face ID (fingerprint or screen lock on Android, an email code on the web).
  • Automations run unattended, but each one is pinned on chain to its recipient and amount per period.

Read the safety model for the details.

Two networks, one tap

Kawase runs on Arc mainnet (real money) and Arc testnet (test money, free from the in-app faucet). New accounts start on testnet. The network pill in the header switches between them in one tap, like dark mode; the app, the orb and every money card always say which one you are on. See networks.
